SANOG8 ended with the embedded event of the launch of the IPv6 Forum of Pakistan yesterday (Saturday). The extensive technical session was addressed by Latif Ladid, President IPv6 Forum who came to Pakistan for this launch ceremony. Besides, Khalid Raza, Distinguished Engineer of Cisco Systems and Salman Asadullah, Technical Leader at Cisco Systems and author of one of the related draft (on its way to become an RFC) spoke extensively at the occasion on technical topics related to IPv6 and its deployment.

We have two major announcements to make here:

  1. An announcement-only list nsp-announce is being set up for all those who attended SANOG 8 as well as IPv6 Forum launch on Saturday. Please use this page to subscribe yourself to this list to keep abreast with new announcements and other information coming out of NSP. This is not the NSP members list. This is just a one-way list to quickly reach to everyone involved in these activities irrespective of their NSP membership status.
  2. NSP Membership is open to interested individuals. Please visit our website’s membership page to apply for the membership online. Just a quick note, (only) under-grad students can apply for Student membership which has an associated fee of Rs 3,000 per year and professionals can apply for the Professional membership which has a fee of Rs 6,000 per year. Membership benefits include social networking, free or heavily subsidized technical and educational events organized by the society throughout the year. Payments should be made as advised on the NSP website.
